Best way to clean an antique mirror and staining wood?
I just bought a gorgeous ornate antique vanity at a flea market, I'm not sure how old it is but definitely looks like it dates back quite a bit.
The mirror, it has some staining on it though and it's a bit hazy like as well (you know how old mirrors sometimes have that yellowish tint to them and aren't perfectly clear, that's what it looks like) Is there anyway I can clean this mirror up really well, and what should I use? I don't really want to replace the mirror because I don't want to decrease the value of the piece.
Also it has some scratches on it wood, nothing drastic, just small scratches. I wanted to know what kind of stain would be good to fill those scratches in with so they aren't so obvious? I don't want to stain the whole piece because I like the color. I just want to camouflage the scrapes on it.
